You've probably seen one of those colourful trishaw rides on the road if you've ever visited Melaka's historic city. So, the next time you're in Melaka and want to ride in a trishaw, you can now pay with your Touch 'n Go e-wallet!

The Melaka state administration announced the adoption of the app as a payment option for trishaw rides in the state yesterday. The effort, according to Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali, is following technological advancements, user-friendly, and a step to halt the spread of Covid-19.

According to national news agency Bernama, nearly 80% of Melaka trishaw drivers have accepted payments via the Touch 'n Go e-wallet. This method of payment is likely to be used by all 305 registered trishaw pullers soon.

Sulaiman praised the Melaka Tourism Promotion Division's project, which he said was well-executed. This is the country's first trishaw service. The Chief Minister of Melaka also commended people who had switched to the Touch 'n Go app.
