THAILAND:

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is gearing up to present the “Amazing Thailand Road Show to Indonesia 2024” across three major Indonesian cities—Medan, Jakarta, and Bali—to bolster Thailand’s allure as a top travel choice for Indonesian tourists.

Mrs. Sirinard Chatsupakul, Director of the TAT Jakarta Office, said, “The Amazing Thailand Road Show to Indonesia 2024 is an important business-to-business marketplace for TAT and Thai tourism suppliers to meet with our Indonesian tourism partners. The event is aimed to showcase a multitude of exceptional travel experiences in Thailand and to encourage Indonesians to travel more to destinations up and down the kingdom.”

Kicking off on September 17 in Medan, the promotional tour will proceed to Jakarta on September 18 and wrap up in Bali by September 20.

Accompanying the TAT will be a contingent of 18 Thai tourism stakeholders, including representatives from hotels, airlines, local tour operators, attractions, and golf courses. This initiative will see participation from over 100 Indonesian travel agencies across the three cities.

The event’s agenda for the day features updates on Thailand’s tourism offerings, Business-to-Business (B2B) networking sessions, and a celebratory banquet complete with lucky draws.

This campaign is part of TAT’s broader “Amazing Thailand: Your Stories Never End” promotional strategy, anchored in the theme of ‘Five-Must Do’ experiences in Thailand. These pivotal experiences include: Must Taste—relishing Thailand’s renowned and varied culinary delights; Must Try—immersing in the nation’s traditional culture and local activities; Must Buy—acquiring distinctive Thai fashion and artisanal products; Must Seek—venturing into Thailand’s emerging and obscure tourist spots; and Must See—witnessing the vibrant festivals that showcase Thai culture.

The presentation will highlight travel destinations and itineraries specially tailored for Indonesian travelers, focusing on locations like Bangkok and its surroundings, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Phang-Nga, Krabi, Hat Yai, Ko Samui, and other regions.

Tourism statistics reveal a rising trend in Indonesian visitors to Thailand, with 760,938 tourists recorded in 2023. By August 2024, this figure reached 570,386, and projections suggest nearly 900,000 visitors by year-end. This growth is attributed to TAT’s vigorous marketing efforts, Indonesia’s thriving economy which fuels outbound travel demand, and the resurgence of direct flights between the two nations.
