KEDAH:

During the Deepavali holiday, over 10,000 tourists visited the island, refuting reports that domestic travellers are avoiding Langkawi.
This strong influx of tourists not only refutes negative narratives but also highlights Langkawi's ongoing appeal as a top vacation spot.
The data indicates that the tourists have a wide range of travel preferences: 6,252 chose the passenger ferry service, 675 chose the passenger/vehicle ferry (RoRo), and 3,500 arrived by air.
According to Norhafiz Abd Wahid, assistant manager of operations at Konsortium Langkawi Ferry Line Ventures Sdn Bhd (Ferry Line), 2,406 tourists have arrived in Langkawi via six ferry crossings from Kuala Kedah since this morning.
After eight in the morning, seven ferry crossings from Kuala Perlis brought a total of 3,846 tourists to Langkawi.
"There are no additional ferry trips for today after 7 pm due to water tide in Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis," he stated when called.
According to Muhd Nasir Abdul Aziz, general manager of Langkawi Port Sdn Bhd (Langkawi Port), 675 tourists arrived in Langkawi today aboard RoRo ferries.
Currently, six RoRo ferries, all originating from Kuala Perlis, are in service.
When called, he stated, "We recorded 1,807 passengers arriving in Langkawi via RoRo ferries yesterday."
26 flights arrived at Langkawi International Airport (LIA) today, with the sources being Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Singapore, according to arrivals checks.
An anonymous airport employee stated that 3,500 passengers were scheduled to arrive today via the 26 aircraft.
"The busiest time is between 2 pm and 4 pm as seven flights will be arriving, while another seven will be departing the island," he stated.
According to Syed Muhammad Firdaus Syed Putra, manager of the Adya Hotel Langkawi, the hotel's occupancy rate was 70% today.
"We are optimistic that the Adya Hotels in Kuah and Chenang will maintain an occupancy rate of over 60% through the end of this year, given the current momentum."
"Domestic travelers make some 60 percent of the bookings while the other 40 percent of bookings are by tourists from the Middle East, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand," he stated.
