The number of people visiting Teluk Cempedak beach at any time at weekends is limited to 1,000, so they can make certain that the SOP is complied with at a physical distance.
Mohamad Noor Yúsef Ali, ACP Police Chief of the Kuantan District, said that from 10 am to 10 pm on Friday to Sunday the introduction of the new SOP will take effect and that the visitor would take a visitor card at one of the three points to enter the famous beach.
“There is no time limit set for each visitor, but if the number of visitors exceeded the limit, then we will divert the vehicles that wish to enter the Teluk Cempedak area to other places except for those who want to use the drive-through service at the fast-food restaurants there.
“Workers, hawkers, and shop owners in Teluk Cempedak need not take the visitor’s card, but they will be required to show their employee cards or confirmation letters from their employers at the entrance,” he said in a statement.
The Kuantan Municipal Council (MPK) parking space, private car park, and between the two restaurants for fast food, McDonald and KFC are three entry points, Mohamad Nor said.
Mohamad Noor said visitors must use the MySejahtera application or manual registration and adhere to the SOP which includes checking the body temperature, wearing face masks, and maintaining physical distance around the beach area.
He said that police, MPK, RELA, and APM staff will be stationed at the entrance points and around Teluk Cempedak to ensure the smooth implementation of the SOP.
