MALAYSIA:

The interactive digital brochures, a digital tourism website, allows users to interact virtually while exploring information about tourist destinations throughout the country.

Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri of Tourism, Arts and Culture said that the website was a move to revive the digital brochures of Malaysian Tourism.

“Interactive Digital Brochures which can be accessed through the ebrochures.malaysia.travel microsite gives new life to digital brochures in pdf format (Portable Document Format) which previously could only be downloaded and printed,” she said in her speech at the launch yesterday.

Nancy said that this site was designed to be responsive to mobile phones, tablets or laptops with multi-screen compatibility, and that multimedia elements, such as text, graphics, animation, and videos, have also been included, for effictive delivery.

The interactive website has five most popular tourist brochure, Malaysia Travel Guide; Langkawi the Jewel of Kedah, Islands and Sand Beaches; and Nature Adventurous.

“The site also comes with a share option that allows the content of the brochure to be shared more easily across other applications such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and others,” she said.

According to Nancy, Motac through Tourism Malaysia was constantly formulating creative strategies to revitalise the country's domestic tourism industry, which had been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to promote Malaysia as one of the favoured destinations in the region.

Nancy also urged the public to use the information provided on this interactive site and take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a safe family break by following standard operational procedures to limit the spread of the outbreak of Covid-19.
